When I heard that my mom and sister, Sariah, got plane tickets to visit my other sister, Tori, in sunny Florida it just about killed me. I want a break from the snow, too!
So, just to torture myself, I looked up the price of plane tickets. What do you know, Southwest is having a big Wanna Get Away promotion right now...
Ok, so I called my doctor thinking he'd say, "No way can you fly across the country 6 weeks before your baby is due." Except he didn't say that. His nurse (who I actually spoke to) said, "Go for it!"
Grandma said, "Sure, I'll take Matthew to kindergarten." My generous neighbor said, "Sure, I'll watch the boys after school." Brian said, "Actually, we have a free plane ticket with Southwest. You could use that."
Which made me realize I could bring Maggie very affordably--we could take a mother-daughter trip! She's very well behaved when she has your undivided attention. And I wouldn't have to feel guilty about leaving behind a two-year old drama queen for someone to deal with.
Bring out the sunscreen, tennis shoes, and maternity capri pants because in two weeks I'm taking a break from all this snow!
I bought Maggie some polka-dot flip-flops today.

Hey, let me know what we can do to help out. I am all in favor of a sunny get away and will aid and abet in any way possible!
That sounds so nice! We don't have any snow to worry about here in Louisiana, but a trip back to Florida would be great right now!
Yay!!! I am so excited to see you! And so glad you get to take a little break. Hopefully the weather is decent...! PS You can borrow my maternity clothes if you need too. Don't worry about buying a bunch of new ones. I have only warm weather stuff. :) See you soon!
Thanks, Mrs. Mayor, I'll let you know!
Lucky you! Nothing like a nice sunny get away before you have your baby! I think its great that you're feeling well enough at this point to take on a trip! I hope you have fun...just don't go into labor.
hooray for diffendoofer day! sounds like so much fun. hope you get to spend all day at the beach (don't forget the sunscreen!) and come back with a nice tan :)
OHhh! Wonderful! I am so happy for you. Getting baby-sitters and schedules to work is always tricky. What a fun way to spend time with your "baby" before the new baby comes along. Have Fun!
Call me if I can help.
Happy SUN! And a great all boys two week retreat - we'll be over the day before you arrive home to clean house! ;)
Have a blast!! You deserve it before that baby comes, because you will be a homebody for quite a while after! Have a great time!
