Leak Update

After visits from an insurance adjuster and roofer, a restoration company finally figured out the source of the leak: burst hose bib.

The good news: it's covered by insurance (as opposed to rainwater, which is not).

The bad news: water everywhere! And now we get to rip into sheet rock and plumbing and poor Nathan's not going to have his room back for awhile, yet.

The weird news: it has absolutely nothing to do with the water-damaged siding directly above it on the second floor.

Bad construction? I'm glad you figured out why it was flooding the basement though.

We figured out the hard way too. We forgot to disconnect our hose through the winter. And our basement only flooded right after it got used after it had been cracked. Luckily the hose wasn't on for long either way so it just ran down the wall and into the carpet, so our drywall was ok. Sorry, it sucks! We didn't even see if our insurance covered it! Dang! Good luck!
