hot Hot HOT

You know those days when your air conditioner is broken and it's 81 degrees INSIDE your house and your baby woke up every 2 hours last night because she didn't like sleeping in her too-small bassinet in the basement because it was too hot upstairs in her crib which means you got one hour of sleep out of every two until you finally gave up when the phone rang at 7:30 this morning. And the air conditioner is STILL broken and the warranty guy sent a repair guy out--thank goodness--and he said it's all fixed and left and an hour later it was broken again and now it's 82 degrees on the main floor and WHO KNOWS how much hotter it is upstairs, you don't even want to know. And there is a pile of laundry that has been sitting on the laundry room counter since, um, Friday or Saturday ? and while you washed and folded a lot of other laundry yesterday, that particular load is sitting and getting wrinklier and wrinklier because you just can't focus on it. And plus also when you walk across the kitchen floor you stick to it because of all the otter pop and apple juice and watermelon spots because no matter how you ride your kids about not only eating their otter pops outside but also cutting them open outside, the juice ALWAYS ends up all over the floor. And you're thinking that it's probably way too hot in here to scrub floors today and the only thing to do is go down in the basement where it's slightly cooler and go back to sleep while you wait for the air conditioner repair guy to show up again.

Brian says I whine too much.

Seriously, I am such a whiner. It was out for less than 24 hours and we had a nice cool finished basement to sleep in. Here's to an AWESOME warranty guy who got on the ball and got it fixed--he even answered his phone at 9:00 last night.

I thought that new homes weren't supposed to have any problems. Was yours broken or did the installation guy forget to turn the ON switch when he installed it like our guy did to our air conditioner? Luckily I found that out the day it first became 90 degrees. I feel your pain. :)

The switch that turns on the fan at the top of the AC unit was faulty and caused the motor to crash. And that's what they have warranties for.

I just wanted to let you know that number one: You are awesome to let us come over for Mila's impromptu party and wreck your house.
number two: I can't stand the heat either. We didn't have an air conditioner when we lived in LA and it got up to 115 one August, and I still don't know how I made it through.
number three: I CAN'T STAND sticky floors, so I won't let Aydan eat Otter pops---I know---selfish mother...
