Name That Baby!

Nathan...Matthew...Magdalene...???

The Challenge: To find the perfect name for our soon-to-be-here fourth child.

The Rules:
1. It must be a girl's name. Obviously.
2. Preferably, a Bible name or at least a name of Hebrew origin (all three other names are--we can't break the tradition now).
3. Not too common. For example, I love the name Abigail but it's listed 2nd on the list of Most Popular Baby Names in 2007 and 6th on Social Security Administration's list of Top 10 Names for 2006. So sad...

(I know, I'm not making this easy. Who said naming a baby was easy, anyway? I've always thought it was one of the most difficult parts of having a baby. Okay, so maybe there are a few other parts that are more physically painful...)

The Prize: If you can come up with the winning name you get...drum roll please...the honor and privilege of naming our child. How's that for motivation?

The suggestion box is now open...

I love the name Ivy, but I am still trying to sell it to Brad.

I like the name Leah.

Hmmm... what else? I'm trying to think Biblical here - oh I also like the name Naomi a lot. It's one I've suggested for our own kids but got the no from Anthony for some reason. I'll think about it more and maybe post more suggestions later.

I like Abibit from that Hebrew list, you could call her Bibi for short... JUST KIDDING. I'll think about it when Owen gives me a minute and get back to you! :)

I vote Alexandria (means defender of men,brave--she'll show those older brothers who's boss!) and call her Alexa.

or if you feel really crafty there was a girl in my class whose name was Acacia but she went by Casey.

Good luck with the search... i love baby names!

I really like the name Gabriella...it's a stretch, but it is feminine for Gabriel...I love the nickname Gabby. Good luck!

Hmm. Does it have to be biblical? Ella? too close to Elly? Lauren or Kayla aren't too common like Grace and Chloe. Anyway, good luck! We have yet to firm our choice up.

My favorite biblical names are also pretty common (Hannah, Eve). Abigail is beautiful, why not go with it anyway? (but i do have a boy named Jacob, which is always in the top 10)

Lovin' the ideas, guys. Keep 'em coming! For the record, here are a few that we've been considering:

Elizabeth (Libby for short)
Anneliese or just Anne
Brianna

I also like Laura and Eden, but I still say pick the name you like best no matter what everybody else is doing.

The next girl we have (not any time too soon!) will be named Miriam. Love that name! You can steal it, if you want. :)

I just asked Anthony and he suggested Rachel or Hannah too. Can't wait to hear what you have chosen.

My vote is for Elizabeth (always loved that name)or Mary, very biblical. I think Libby for a nickname is cute too. However popular Abigail is,if you like it, go with it. I love the nickname Abby. Another favorite.
My husband just jokingly said- Norbert! Ha! Ha!

I like Eden or Eve.

okay, one more good one: Esther (and she would need a middle name that starts with C)

I stolled right down to the bottom to write my answer so I didnt see anyone elses suggestions. I think the name LEAH is beautiful. You can even spell it Leyah or something like that to make it more unique. Theres also the very simple name of Sarah or Sariah. There is a Delilah, but Lyla would be pretty. I don't know if I would go with the full name. Good Luck! It's almost midnight so if I think of anymore that pop into my head I will let you know. Now I'm going to post this, then read what everyone else thinks! =)
